LIVE @ THE THIRD PLACE - 30/09/2005
WOW, firstly, i wanna thank all my friends who came down. from the bottom of my heart... THANK YOU VERY MUCH. it wouldnt have been such a great experience for us if it wasnt for u guys!
anyway, went down to the 3rd place arnd 5 30 and only crossbred and set for glory was there. SFG didnt seem to be very friendly, smiled at them bt the guys jst stoned back... guess thats what emo does to u. anyway, soundcheck was delayed all the way till pass 7. so we went to eat chicken rice and then came back for a short soundcheck without our actual drummer and rhythm guitarist.
had endless calls from friends who had trouble finding the place. apologises for slow replying of smses and some connection disruptions, as was doing soundcheck and also running arnd getting things done.
first band was indecisive minds, welllllll, they were screamo emo. but i guess, it was still cool.
second band, vendetta, my ex band! think they re doing well! some great stuff they have there.
finally, its time for Spanish Fly! debut gig! was fantastic being up there and seeing people cheer and sing along! one of the best moments i recalled was during i ll be there for u when i cld HEAR the crowd singing along! honestly, when u re up on stage, u dont seem to realise whats going on arnd u and ur mind is jst set dead on rocking out and the music. bt it was really superb seeing the crowd having a good time and singing along to the classics! couldnt hear much of my own vocals, but according to regina, i didnt go off key! haha, so thats good!! so as i said, when u re on stage, things are oblivious to u! and the set well, went by really fast! what was actually 35-40 mins seemed like 15 mins! haha.
and oh yea, my mum actually didnt want to come at first, cos she had this dinner to go to. but i was surprised to see her jst before our set! haha, so i knew i had to surprise her!!!
so after our set, packed my stuff, and regina said she wanted to eat. so went to put my stuff into the car and went to eat with her and the guys from soft.com. anyway, it was during SFG's set which might have rocked!(but i wldnt knw, cos i wasnt there) bt supposedly, ben and nic and some others told me, they aint very impressive, so i guess, going for a drink was a good idea. so after, the food and drinks, went back to catch crossbred, and i must say, they're getting more and more impressive!!! and prettier too!
i ll post some pics and videos of the gig when i get them from my friends!
and something came in the mail this morning :
