My New Year Resolution
i dont normally make resolutions but this year, i want to make a difference in my life and also of the people around me and the people that i meet everyday.
a lot of times i feel people do things for their own gain and sastisfaction and seldom pay attention to the feelings of others. this is actually happening to me quite a lot this few days. worst still its actually from people that i count as closest to my heart.
but thats another story for another time.
the reason for my resolution?
i really look up to others who do things out of the kindness of their hearts. people who do things for others without expecting credit or something in return.
a lot of times we dont realise that something small that we do, something that doesnt require much effort from us can actually mean a lot to the other party.
it is the little things that we do that actually can show how much we care for people.
its not the amounts of "i love u" that we say each day nor is it the price of gifts that we splurge on our loved ones.
"i love you" is simply jst words and i cld mutter it all day long to everyone i meet and it wont mean a thing at all.
gifts, money and all other materialistic things thought very much sought after by most people is something that is temporary and will never stand the test of time.
clothes go out with the season, money gets spent, even cars are junked after a certain number of years.
we come to this earth with nothing and leave with nothing.
when we are old and dying, i believe that it wont be the things we had or our wealth or fame that matters anymore.
it will be the things that we have achieved as a person. the people that we still have by our sides.
those that have stood by us all this while believing in whatever we did and never giving up on us.
the people that made our lives the way it is and the people thet WE managed to make a positive impact on.
so this new year, my new year's resolution is no longer to earn more money, to play the biggest rock shows, to play the best guitar ever nor isit to gain more materialistically.
this new year, i want to be a better son, a better friend and a better person.
