STICKS

"JOY OF LIFE TO SOME, STICKS OF TORMENT TO OTHERS"

ok, i m posting this up cos some of u guys are asking to see the pic that won me top prize at storyfest ytd.

to be really honest, i didnt expect to win. i was just really happy that it got into the finals and that it was displayed at the walkway outside mlt12.

one of the reasons that i submitted this photo for storyfest was because i just wanted to be an asshole and sort of taunt the judges.
usually government educational institutions go against vices.
for a theme such as "JOY OF LIFE", most would probably expect to see little children playing toys with big smiles on their faces or a couple kissing and so on so forth.

happy pictures.

i have always wondered if the whole concept of promoting creative and out of the box thinking can really be put into action by the education system of Singapore and not just be preached out.
using an ashtray full of ciggs and naming it "JOY OF LIFE".
well, ciggs are a joy of life to some arent they? i have friends who wld give up their lives for ciggs.

well, anyway, i guess i shall swallow my words about how stiff and ironic schs are.
not only did the photo get into the finals, it eventually won the competition.

im happy :) not cos of the win. but im jst happy. i dont really know why.
maybe its cos i got to hug maheandrean. heh heh heh.

anyway, yngiwe malmsteen's gig kinda didnt leave me with any impact.
i think i might have lost hearing in my left ear. there is no ringing, no buzz, jst a total dead silence. this was even with ear plugs stuck deep into my ear.
they had like cracking thru the whole show, he shredded like over and over forever and the set was kinda short compared to when he played in 2002. it was hot, i was itchy, i was tired from standing, the whole gig sort of went pass in a whirl, i cldnt really see cos im short.

and yngwie is still fat la.
all that nonsense bout him losing weight.
he still looks like he hasnt let off from those meatballs of his!
